FactShala University Network Programme

An initiative aimed at establishing a Media Literacy Hub at esteemed institutions to equip college students with the skills needed to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

About the Programme

FactShala University Network is a media and information literacy programme led by DataLEADS and supported by Google News Initiative. The programme is aimed at establishing 50 media literacy hubs across leading media colleges and universities in India. Each of these hubs established through this initiative will serve as a dedicated center for media literacy within universities and colleges, empowering students with critical information analysis skills. The programme strives to promote informed decision-making by helping students critically assess online content, ensuring that fact-based understanding and responsible information-sharing become integral to their daily habits.

What to Expect

This is a unique opportunity for media institutes to set up a Factshala media literacy hub in their college. These hubs will act as catalysts for change, promoting local communities of informed, media-savvy individuals who will contribute to a broader, more resilient information landscape across India.

Media educators can use this opportunity to join the programme as trainers and become part of India’s largest media literacy network. They will have the chance to learn from and network with leaders from the media literacy world, by participating in Factshala’s 2-day residency programme in Delhi and bi-monthly webinars and activities. Earn trainer will be certified upon completion of the residency programme.

Also, both trainers and media institutes will have access to the Factshala research-based curriculum and Google’s Super Searchers module
